But the absolute highlight was the home cooked breakfast and dinner!! Some of the best food we had on our whole trip!   This was the best place we stayed all trip! Designed by Sri Lankan architect Vijitha Basnayaka, the whole place is a beautiful testament to Sri Lankan architecture, with reclaimed wood... read more doors and furniture, water fountains, and beautiful landscaping. Our room was on the top floor with a breathtaking view of the forest. The room is even better than the photos, with a lofted seating area, window seat, reading desk and modern bathroom. But the best parts of this place is the host and the food! Our host immediately welcomed us with Sri Lankan pancakes and fresh tea, we talked with her about architecture and Sri Lankan history. She was super helpful the whole stay, including getting us last minute first class tickets on the train to Ella! The food is home cooked right in front of you, DELICIOUS, cooked with such care, and some of the best traditional food we had the whole trip.

The room and it’s panoramic view was in incredible and so was the traditional breakfast that was served to us in the morning. Chinthaka was super helpful with tips and recommendations.

The food was absolutely incredible- authentic Sri Lankan dining, with mostly home grown ingredients. The food alone made this experience worth it for us. The pricing is extremely reasonable and I feel we got more than what we were charged for. The view from our room was insanely beautiful! The local recommendations and help with organising our transportation was much appreciated. My daughter loved the pet tortoises’ and the fish pond, as well as the dogs who are learning to get used to strangers. So much love and care has gone into this experience, truly a highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka so far. Thankyou for sharing your home with us, we loved every part of it!
